There have been lots of Seattle movies over the years. Hollywood has been producing movies filmed in Seattle ever since the city's debut in Tugboat Annie in 1933. Most though will remember Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan in Sleepless in Seattle, and, in particular, the rather tranquil Lake Union houseboats that the Emerald City is famous for. But less than a mile or so further up on Lake Union, John Wayne's character from a movie also lived on a boat in Fremont. The Duke starred in the 1974 cop thriller McQ, where all his Trans Am car chases were shot in and around downtown Seattle. In the movie, McQ though lived a sedate homelife on a boat in a more tranquil spot (here in the picture), alongside The George Washington Memorial Bridge (commonly called the Aurora Bridge).
